About Us
Hi, my name is Shane Durkin and I’m the founder of PATRIOT High Performance Homes, a venture created to build custom homes to a higher standard of durability, efficiency and health using modern day materials, advanced construction techniques and building best practices.
I attended college at the United States Naval Academy where I majored in Mechanical Engineering and was a four year member of the Men’s Varsity Lacrosse Team. I was selected to become a Navy SEAL Officer and moved to Coronado, CA in 2009 to lead my class of several hundred SEAL candidates through 18 months of training. During my SEAL career I gained unparalleled experience leading and managing special operations across the globe at the highest level. Following my service, I earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with an emphasis in finance, accounting, economics and entrepreneurship.
My approach to custom home building and construction management combines a deep knowledge of building science, proficiency in project management and operations, CPA-level accounting and an entrepreneurial spirit to integrate the best construction practices across all aspects of a new build. I consider the quality of the experience to be just as important as the quality of the home which is why my level of communication and organization is unmatched. I value hard work, integrity, personal accountability and opportunities to learn.
I became a builder because I am passionate about understanding how things work and how to create them better in both composition and process. I believe our homes have a tremendous impact on our lives and I am grateful for the opportunity to have a positive effect on the people and families in my community.
